A collaborative platform for sustainable water, biodiversity and land management in the Upper Groot Letaba Catchment, Limpopo Province, South Africa
Join the NetworkThe Upper Groot Letaba Landscape Planning process represents a significant opportunity for collaboration between local stakeholders and other interested and involved partners, aiming for a sustainable and economically viable future for the region. The collaborative process is expected to contribute to lasting solutions for water security, biodiversity and ecosystem restoration, and economic development in the Upper Groot Letaba catchment. The project’s goal is to have a ‘first generation’ Upper Groot Letaba Landscape Plan adopted by relevant stakeholders by the end of 2025.
The initiative is funded by a Dutch government programme, Partners for Water, which is managed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Partners for Water promotes international water security through long-term partnerships between Dutch and local stakeholders, with a focus on nature-based solutions (NBS) and the water-biodiversity-food nexus – both of which are highly relevant to the Upper Letaba.
